At 5'5", Anitra has seen her weight fluctuate from a low 130 pounds to a high 330 pounds. In July 2001, weighing 253 pounds, and with a family history of diabetes as well as her own health (hypoglycemia) to consider, Anitra saw the need to make some changes.

"All my life my weight has been up and down, but I remember weighing 130 lbs. and thinking I was huge! I would starve myself and drop weight fast, only to gain it back as soon as I ate again. I tried the diet meals, low fat, low carb, and just about every fad out there.

About 5 years ago, I hit my all time high of 330lbs. I spent a lot of time walking on the beach, rollerblading, and watching what I ate and lost down to 175 lbs.

Then I moved to TX. I was alone and learning a new city and let myself go again. I was back up to 270 lbs. before I said whoa and stopped. I lost down to about 260.

About a year and a half ago, I was so tired I could barely get out of bed and even after sleeping 10-12 hrs. would still be exhausted. I went to the doctor and she did blood work coming back with hypoglycemia. She put me on low carb for a few months to get it stablized, then in May of last year she put me on Xenical.

I did really well, but then hit a major stall. I could not get her to give me phen, so I went the online route. I was still seeing her every few months for the Xenical follow ups, so at least I felt I was being monitored. From July to January of this year I lost most of the weight.

In the beginning, I really watched what I ate but started learning to control portions if I ate out. Now I'm learning to eat anything I want but control the amount.

In January, I went on one of my cruises and met my soul mate. I was 70lbs. lighter and feeling great! When Salih walked into my life, I knew I had found that one man for me.

I never let my weight stop me no matter how large I was. I'm one of those weird women that never realized how big I was. I was always blaming the mirror or the camera or something. I'm confident and love who I am. Weighing less helps amplify this. I have hit a stall since January but never give up. I will continue when my body is ready.

I just got married in April and am traveling to Turkey to meet my husband's family. Turkish people love to eat! And the food is wonderful! I refuse to beat myself up or feel guilty for eating something others consider bad. There are no bad or forbidden foods in my life - just control over those foods. I have managed to hold steady even after I stopped taking phen a couple of months ago.

Exercise has never been more than walking. I do occasionally weight train. I am still working on finding more time. My husband and I swim a few nights a week also.

I plan on kicking it into high gear and starting phen again when I return in July. I'm not in a hurry or wanting to be one of those skinny women. I'm happy but want to do this for my health. Fortunately, I don't suffer from hypoglycemia anymore and never had high blood pressure or other obesity related diseases."

My health. When the doctor told me I was hypoglycemic and my family had a history of diabetes, I knew I had to do something.

What was the most difficult adjustment to your new lifestyle?
Anitra
Finding time to exercise. I work 2 jobs and some days my hours are just too full to find time to sleep, much less work on exercise.

What is the most rewarding part of your new lifestyle?

Meeting my husband! And, of course, the friendships I have developed from the phentermine.com forums. We may not have met face to face, but we do talk on the phone some, chat a lot, offer support and a shoulder to lean on when needed. We have shared a lot over the months. I was even given a cyber bridal shower in the phentermine.com chat room! What a great time it was. I am so grateful for all the love they have given me, even without really knowing me! I can't wait to meet them on the phencruise!

Do you have any words of advice for the Phentermine.com community?
Anitra
Never give up! Never beat yourself up. Life is too short to worry about small things, such as a slip up or a stall. Just keep going and it will all work itself out in the end.
